While most dental insurance coverage will only cover a percentage, usually 50% to 80%, of fillings. Insurance companies will not always pay for composite fillings on back teeth. As mentioned above, dental insurance typically does not cover the additional costs associated with composite fillings. With dental insurance, gold fillings typically run between $10 and $50, while ceramic fillings range between $40 and $100. Dental insurance is intended to help offset the costs associated with dental care.
